*KRAKOOM* A god appears over you. "SHILZAPEN!" He booms. "YOU MUST GO UNTO THE PLAINS KNOWN AS GOLONG AND FIGHT THE EVIL THAT RESIDES THERE. I SHALL BESTOW UPON YOU THE KNOWLEDGE PASSED FROM HERO TO HERO THROUGHOUT THE CENTURIES..."

Right. Some tips:
(1.) Be realistic. How would your character ACTUALLY react? Remember, you can't be the hero every time.
(2.) Be creative. There's a rock and some vines on the ground. Do you leave it... or emerge armed with a jury-rigged sling? It's on you to do things-- the DM can't do everything.
(3.) Be serious... but know that there's always time for merriment. Don't be perpetually ridiculous, as it destroys the mood.

i wake up and scout my surroundings, looking for anything that might serve as a defence in a case of combat...

The land yields nothing of combat value. You are left with your trusty club and magic scrolls. You remember you meant to read them...

The area, on close scrutiny, is a small clearing in the edge of a forest. A large tree shades the peaceful area, and several sleeping Delta Beetles nap in the cool darkness, content. Several paths lead out from the clearing.

OoC: Try moving.

I read the scrolls...

then take the road heading as north as possible and search the area for some food(anything i dont have to kill) .
i also look around as i walk for things that might help me later...
