I devised a new set of rules for our game, and I'm working on plot, etc.
Have a gander at these brand spankin' new skills! [---- means "governed by the above skill"]
Combat skill - Determines Attack and Defense. The ratio varies depending on the character.
----Attack - Damage dealt on a successful attack.
----Defense - Damage subtracted from a hit from an enemy. Damage cannot go below zero.
Speed - Determines both movement speed and action speed.
Archer skill - Determines Range and Range attack. The ratio varies depending on the character.
----Range - How far a character can shoot/throw/etc.
----Range attack - How much damage a character does in a successful ranged attack.
Magic - Determines Magic reading, range, and attack. The ratio varies depending on the character.
----Magic reading - How well a character can read his or her class’s scrolls.
----Magic range - How far a character can cast a spell. NOTE: A spell fired from the character must have a clear shot; the character must know where his target is for attacks that appear on the target.
----Magic Damage - How much damage the character does in a successful spell casting.
Craftiness - Determines the character’s social ability and quick thinking.
Intelligence - How well a character can think logically, make decisions, and solve puzzles.
Item Knowledge - Determines Item creation, appraisal, and combination.
----Item Creation - Decides how well a character can make/fix items.
----Item Appraisal - How well a character can value, find out about, and investigate objects.
----Item Combination - How well a character can use items simultaneously (I.e., I use the tape to attach the bomb to the arrow).
