I'm pasting in the last post to get an idea on where we stand.

One more thing about Pushers: if the space in front of them is occupied, you stop on the pusher.

The bottom squid splits off to [HOME ECONOMICS ROCK!!!] the 'shroom and spider, while the center squid squiddles forward a panel. The 'shroom hides behind the spider.

The battle stands. The squids all have 10 HP, Keelan has 28 HP, his spider has 8 HP, and the Mushroom has 4 HP.

Keelan squiddles up one panel and fricks the heck out of the squid adjacent to him. Three times.

The squid is thoroughly fricked and has the scars to show it. Various weapons deal it 6 damage.

The squids continue to make their way around Keelan to get the mushroom. They launch no attacks, and seem to be under some strange enchantment. The battle stands. Squids 1 and 3 have 10 HP, and squid 2 has 4 HP. Keelan has 28 HP, the spider has 8 HP, and the mushroom has 4 HP.

Keelan sneaks behind one of the squid's back, and attempts to cut it's throat. After all, he is a pirate. His spider scuttles up one panel, completely blocking squid 2's path, and attacks.

The squid seems to only have a minor convulsion, then falls over. It's thoroughly dead. Keelan stands behind it, pleased with himself. Spider stabs the squid square in the chest, and uses his syringe to draw out a pale but slightly clear substance for 3 damage.

The squid in the upper section is now in a rage over its fallen comrade. It begins to rush towards Keelan. The second squid lashes out and deals 2 damage to the spider. The battle stands. Squid 1 has 10 HP, squid 3 has 7 HP, Keelan has 28 HP, the spider has 6 HP, and the mushroom has 4 HP.

Keelan humbly walks behind the spider, lunging a stab at the squids back.
Scutz, the newly named spider, lunges once, and follows up with his special attack; option two, on his confronter.

Keelan backstabs the squid for 4 damage. Scutz (nice name) swings with his non-syringe arm, but misses. His follow up stab makes contact, however. It injects the squid's blood into its neck and misses the jugular! CRITICAL! 10 Dmg! The squid dies convulsing.

The other squid flees from its newfound assailant. The battle stands. The squid has 6 HP, Keelan has 28 HP, Scutz has 6 HP, and the Mushroom has 4 HP.

Scutz holds his ground as Keelan traps him into a corner.

The squid is fearful of the imposing man bearing down on him. It flails in a last ditch effort to escape, knocking Keelan back and dealing him 6 damage and 2 damage to itself. The battle stands. The squid has 4 HP, Keelan has 28 HP, Scutz has 6 HP, and the mushroom has 4 HP.

Bam. Keelan shoots the squid for flailing in an ugly manner, using his special attack.

The squid falls off the edge of the platform, and the platform in turn lowers down to regular level once more. Pirateman suddenly chimes in, "I wonder where those punkish squids came from?" Scutz points to a hole in the ground. It's small enough for him to fit through.

OoC: Press A to enter Remote Spider Mode.
OoC: Press B to resume adventure.

I press A. Who wouldn't?

OoC: I kinda expected that.

Scutz's spinnerets light up like a beacon, and he seems to become tense. Keelan's PET flips over and some controls reveal themselves: a D-Pad, a joystick, and two buttons labeled "Attack" and "Jump". Scutz readies himself at the edge of the hole...

Keelan plays around with Scutz a little before proceeding. ^_^ Controlling the spider, Keelan commands it into the hole with the jump button.

Scutz drops into the hole and pans his Spidercam[tm]. The Spidercam[tm] reveals a small glowing rock, a tunnel, and a sleeping mushroom.

Keelan forces Scutz to eat the sleeping mushroom. Or attempt to.

Scutz flies forward with a *SCREEE* and latches onto the mushroom. The startled 'shroom jumps up and starts flailing!

Scutz spins into a web, and proceeds to inject venom. And he makes a happy face. ^w^

The mushroom thrashes in vain as Scutz slowly kills it from within. Suddenly, there is a *Scree!*from down the tunnel.

The "scree" attracts Scutz, momentarily breaking him away from Keelan's control. Scutz lunges in that direction.

There is a bright red and green glow emanating from the end of the tunnel. Some shadows momentarily block the light, one... two... three... four times. The *SCREE* sounds again, followed by a *thud* and a whimper. Scutz rushes down the tunnel and peers out. A large, expansive cavern stretches below him. Lava shines red around a large circular island in the middle of the burning sea. A Scalag, two odd Infirmary spiders, and... something lurking in the darkness? Regardless, the *SCREE* recaptures Scutz' attention. It's coming from a smaller Infirmary Spider, but this one isn't the traditional red; it's bright blue. It seems it is also smaller, and the two red Infirmary spiders advance slowly upon it. The blue Infirmary Spider looks injured, and it cowers as its captors scuttle towards it.

There is only one entrance and exit to the island: a steep stone staircase engraved with markings. At the top stands a Shadow Bat, who stands guard over the door at the top. The hole seems to protrude from a beetling ceiling, and hangs relatively near the island, close enough to jump onto or throw something on the island.

What does Scutz do?

Scittering stealthily above the "island," Scutz spews out a 'Spinnerette Turret' onto what appears to be the primary advancing Infirmary Spider.

The sticky string ensnares one of the Infirmary spider's legs, and it stumbles forward. The other, unencumbered spider jumps back and looks around. The silk Scutz spun is quickly cut off, but it notices the string came from above it scans the ceiling...

This gives the blue Infirmary spider a chance! It strikes forward and jabs its arm forward, but misses. It falls past the ensnared spider and clumsily begins running. The other spiders whirl around, and lunge for the blue spider. They pin him, but he whacks the ensnared spider away.

Scutz, noticing a chance himself to rescue this IS, releases a [furious?] *SCREE!* of his own, summons the power of his secondary compounds again, and spews silk down towards the Red IS's. He then proceeds to lunge down through the air towards the Spider he had attacked earlier.

The Universe delivers a crack unto the ground, raising a pedistal of combat into the fiery air!

Back at the ranch...
Keelan sees the unfolding events on his PET screen. Pirateman speaks up: "Well, ye might want te go find a way t'help him!" and gestures around the room. There are several exits to the room, as well as one downward staircase.

Knowing that Scutz had traveled downward, Keelan logically proceeds down the case of stairs. His hand falls near his sword.

Keelan is presented with a sturdy stone door. It has handles, and a small indent about the shape of a shard of rock. The door is lit on either side by bright green flames that are not attached to any torch. This is a highly magical spot.

The two Infirmary spiders, by turns, advance one and two more panels, respectively.

Keelan dances the ancient magical jig of pirates that was passed down over the ages to him in attempts to open the door.
Pirateman points out, "Ye haven't even tried to open the door manually, Keelan. It looks like that indent could be a 'key hole.' Look around, there may be something you could use."

Keelan searches the area.
